The COVID-19 crisis is disproportionately impacting young people from disadvantaged backgrounds, magnifying issues such as social exclusion, isolation and mental wellbeing. This is why we are huge advocates of organisations such as Resurgo, who we are proud to be partnering with to support their learners and coaching teams.

Who are Resurgo?

Resurgo are an organisation that connect, envision, train and support people to ‘transform society together’ through high impact and scalable enterprises. They specialise in coaching, managing impact, leveraging local expertise and scaling up. Their initiatives include the Spear Programme, Re-Work and Resurgo Consulting.

The Spear Programme ‘ignites a vision of the possible’ in unemployed 16- 24 year olds. The initial 6-week programme tackles attitudinal and practical barriers that often prevent young people from difficult backgrounds getting into work, and is followed by a full 12 months of support for each trainee.
Resurgo means to rise up again. If we each step up to play our part, society will flourish.

Supporting Resurgo’s Spear Programme

 

tml Partners have been working with Resurgo’s partnership team to provide direct support with their award winning Spear Programme. We are thrilled to provide our support in the following ways:

• Mock Interviews – The tml team will provide trainees with interview training and practice. Mock Interviews allow the trainees to gain a realistic experience of an online interview and meaningful feedback to help them improve their interview technique. The purpose of the Mock Interview session is to help the Spear trainees know how to communicate effectively online, practice answering standard interview questions, and to raise their expectations that getting into work is still possible in this time.
• External Panel Sessions – External Panels are a Q&A panel session for the young people on the Spear Programme to learn about different careers and routes into a variety of industries. The tml team will join a small group of volunteers to speak specifically about our industry, careers in marketing and recruitment, our own journeys into work and what we have overcome to get to where we are.
