At tml Partners, we are proud to be a certified B Corp, committed to making a positive impact on the people, businesses, and societies that we serve. As we celebrate B Corp Month, we’re taking a moment to reflect on the work we’ve done to support our community—through partnerships with Resurgo and City Gateway, volunteering at local food banks, supporting National Interview Month, and driving environmental sustainability.
Creating Fairer Futures with Resurgo & City Gateway
Through The Tomorrow Foundation, we dedicate 5% of our employees’ time to pro bono and charitable initiatives. One of our key focuses is improving social mobility, and we’ve been privileged to work closely with Resurgo and City Gateway to support young people entering the workforce.
- Resurgo’s Spear Programme empowers unemployed 16-24-year-olds, equipping them with the skills and confidence needed to secure jobs. In 2024, we delivered mock interviews, LinkedIn masterclasses, and career panel sessions to over 50 trainees, helping to inspire their future career journeys, and we continue to do so.
- City Gateway supports young people who are not in education, employment, or training (NEET). Over the past two years, our team has run regular volunteering programmes, providing career workshops and mentoring. Looking ahead, we are excited to take a leading role in their Business Mentor Programme, helping to create long-term employment opportunities.
Supporting Our Local Community
Our team members have also been actively involved in supporting local food banks, recognising the growing need for food assistance across the UK. Over the past year, our employees have volunteered at organisations including:
This work has reinforced our commitment to civic engagement, and we are proud that 100% of our employees have taken paid time off for volunteer service in the past year.
National Interview Month: Empowering the Next Generation
One of the highlights of our community engagement this year has been our participation in National Interview Month (NIM)—an initiative designed to provide thousands of students from state schools and colleges with real-life interview experience.
- Over 100 schools and colleges participated, sending thousands of students to take part.
- Our team, alongside other volunteers, conducted mock interviews, providing invaluable guidance and encouragement to young people entering the job market.
- Students reported that the experience boosted their confidence and provided them with practical insights into the interview process.
Some of the student feedback received was truly inspiring:
- “I enjoyed how relaxed the process was, and there was no stress or pressure. They were very positive and provided me with an incredible insight into CVs and how to make one effective.” – Leah
- “The interview gave me a really good idea of what a real-life interview would be like. The interviewer was very nice and made it a very comfortable environment for me.” – Ollie
Our involvement in NIM was made possible through the support of Equitas, whose professional interviewing platform helped to facilitate the sessions.
Driving Environmental Change
As a B Corp, we recognise our responsibility to the environment and are committed to minimising our environmental impact. Over the past year, we have:
- Planted over 4,500 trees through partnerships with Protect Earth and Ecologi, supporting reforestation and carbon reduction efforts.
- Prevented 260 tCO2e from being emitted through 33 verified carbon avoidance projects—offsetting over five times our own emissions.
- Reduced our greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions per employee, moving closer to our goal of achieving less than 1 tonne per person.
- Championed sustainability in our workplace, ensuring 100% of our office electricity comes from renewable sources and launching initiatives like bike-to-work schemes and electric vehicle partnerships.
Additionally, we’ve taken steps to encourage environmental stewardship beyond our business, leading the creation of the Fleet Street Environment Group, engaging neighbouring businesses to transition to low-carbon practices.
Looking Ahead
As we celebrate B Corp Month, we remain committed to our mission of creating a positive impact. Whether through mentoring young talent, volunteering at food banks, or helping students prepare for their future careers, we believe that businesses have a responsibility to drive meaningful change.
We are incredibly grateful to our team, partners, and everyone who has contributed to these initiatives. Your support and dedication are what make our B Corp journey so impactful.
