We are delighted to have been exclusively retained on an exciting new mandate in search of a newly created Business Development and Marketing opportunity with a leading law firm based across the UK, that are undergoing an exciting growth journey. The newly appointed Director of Business Development & Marketing will play a pivotal role in influencing the firm’s commercial growth strategy and optimizing its marketing and BD capabilities.
This opportunity is a priority hire for the firm, with the partners recognising the need for Business Development and Marketing to act as an advisor to the partners when discussing commercial growth and proactive guidance when it comes to best BD & Marketing practice. This person will also have the framework to influence the branding of the firm to enhance the brand, and position the firm into more than a regional law firm.
Reporting into the Managing Partner, responsibilities will include:
- Curating proactive business development and marketing strategy to influence commercial growth within the business. This includes presenting new ideas and opportunities to the partner group.
- Driving best practice through regularly engaging partners, as well as the wider stakeholder group to embed a firm-wide culture of business development through strategic advice.
- Utilising collaboration across practice and sector groups, as well as data and research to analyse new business plans and expand market share nationally.
- Ensure brand guidelines are being met by working closely with partners to execute marketing strategies and ensuring there is ROI across all marketing activities including events and digital marketing.
- Leading a team of 8, including a Head of Marketing where you will oversee your team’s activities, as well as encouraging the team to raise the BD & Marketing teams profile.

- Can manage complex issues that partners face on a regular basis to ensure that Business Development & Marketing is contributing to the solution, as well as commercial growth.
- Confident in influencing senior stakeholders and is able to bring partners on a long-term journey.
