About the Opportunity

We are partnering with a leading international law firm in their search for a Senior Business Development Manager to join the Global Markets (GM) group. This pivotal role involves working closely with the Co-Heads of Global Markets to shape and implement a strategic approach to expanding client relationships in regions where the firm has no physical presence.

The Senior BD Manager will play a crucial role in developing the firm’s strategy for winning work worldwide, collaborating with partners, and fostering relationships with the firm’s extensive network of over 300 partner law firms.

About the Role

  • Strategic Business Development: Provide high-quality, strategic business development advice to lawyers within the GM group, helping to grow client relationships regionally and globally. Assist the GM Co-Heads in setting priorities and tracking progress towards key targets.
  • Client Targeting and Market Insights: Identify commercial opportunities across multinational businesses and local champions, while investigating market trends to support business development in strategic regions.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Work with senior stakeholders to ensure the GM group’s priorities align with the firm’s broader initiatives. Promote collaboration within Marketing & Business Development and across practice groups to maximise client engagement and market positioning.
  • Thought Leadership and Events: Take the lead on organising flagship events, such as the annual IBA event in November 2025, and support regional ST events, shaping content and securing speakers.

About You

  • Over 10 years of experience in business development within a professional services environment, with a proven ability to influence senior stakeholders and engage effectively across diverse cultures.
  • A strategic thinker with strong analytical skills and intellectual curiosity.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities, with the emotional intelligence to collaborate across regions.
  • A proactive leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment, with experience managing high-performing professionals in multiple locations.
  • Global Markets Experience.
