HR and Marketing Recruitment Partnership

Recent research carried out by LinkedIn shows an increase in investment in employer branding among organisations. HR departments are leveraging cross-departmental relationships in order to boost employer brand efforts, and the team they are partnering with the most is marketing.

The importance of a strong employer brand in recruiting top talent is increasingly important, especially in competitive candidate pools. Those organisations that clearly communicate their brand values and the culture of their organisation to candidates are more successful in attracting not only the top talent, but the right talent for them.

LinkedIn’s research shows that 59% of organisations are investing more in their employer brand than last year and 47% say that they share or contribute to their employer brand with their marketing departments.  The research concludes that a strong relationship between HR and marketing will be key to employer brand excellence.

The country’s largest organisations are leading by example in developing their employer brands. Adam Sunman, Employer Branding and Social Media Lead for Vodafone was quoted in the research saying “when we overhauled our employer brand, we had to work very closely with human resources, brand marketing and communications teams to ensure that we were all aligned. For nearly a year, we met regularly to create an employer brand framework and a launch plan to the markets.”
