The Role

This role is designed for a strategic visionary tasked with driving the development and execution of Business Development strategies specifically for the M&A practice. The successful candidate will ensure all growth initiatives are perfectly aligned with broader firm, client, and sector strategies to maximise impact. By leveraging deep product insights and data-led intelligence, they will identify new opportunities, facilitate cross-selling, and refine the overarching strategy to deliver consistent, profitable revenue growth.

Your Impact

As a pivotal leader, the chosen candidate will architect growth by formulating high-level BD strategies that align with global objectives while managing the execution of sophisticated go-to-market campaigns. They will act as a strategic advisor to partners, leveraging market-leading pitch submissions – with the support of a dedicated pitch function – and data-driven insights to spot opportunities and refine win-strategies. Beyond business metrics, they will be responsible for leading and mentoring a high-performing BD team, fostering a positive and inclusive culture that prioritises talent development.

Key Requirements

  • M&A Mastery: Extensive business development experience with a specialised focus on M&A transactions and deal structures.
  • Strategic Leadership: A proven track record of developing successful BD strategies and the ability to influence senior partners and stakeholders.
  • Data-Driven Mindset: Demonstrated ability to leverage data-led insights for opportunity spotting, pipeline management, and setting effective KPIs.
  • Pitch Excellence: Experience creating compelling proposals and “win strategies” for sophisticated, high-profile M&A clients.
  • Collaborative Growth: Strong cross-selling experience with the ability to identify and execute opportunities across various practice areas and sectors.
