The Challenge
Irwin Mitchell sought to appoint a Group Marketing Officer capable of operating at the most senior level: someone who could drive the firm’s commercial growth agenda while elevating the client experience across the business. This was the first time the firm had sought a single commercial leader spanning brand, marketing and digital alongside business development and commercial growth, having previously kept the two disciplines separate.
The brief demanded a rare profile: strong commercial credentials across both B2B and B2C environments, the ability to navigate a partnership-model professional services business, and the vision to challenge established ways of working, all underpinned by a critical understanding of data-led marketing.
