The successful candidate will take a lead role in driving the growth and visibility of a high-profile practice area across several key North American hubs. Reporting into the head of global BD for Capital Markets & Finance, the role involves formulating and executing sophisticated go-to-market strategies that strengthen existing client relationships and position the firm to win significant new mandates. This is a highly visible position that requires the ability to influence senior partners and stakeholders, ensuring that business development activities are both targeted and effective. The remit includes overseeing the development of high-impact content and proprietary insights that elevate the firm’s reputation as a thought leader in the market.

Beyond strategic planning, this role will lead on major bid strategies, providing expert guidance on proposals and pitches to ensure the firm pursues opportunities with tenacity and precision. There is a significant leadership element to this position, as it involves managing and inspiring a dedicated team of professionals to achieve high performance. The role requires a modern approach to business development, including the adoption of advanced digital tools and emerging technologies to automate research and enhance the efficiency of the support provided to the wider firm.

The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience in professional services business development, ideally within a global legal environment. They will have a proven track record of managing complex projects and navigating fast-paced, high-pressure atmospheres with professional maturity and sound judgment. Exceptional communication skills are essential, specifically the ability to produce high-quality written materials that require minimal oversight.
