A distinguished global law firm with an extensive international footprint is seeking a strategic leader to join its London office as an Associate Director of Business Development focused on the Energy sector. This organisation is renowned for its cross-border expertise and its ability to navigate complex markets, positioning itself as a premier advisor to some of the world’s most influential companies. The role sits at the heart of their industry-aligned growth strategy, offering a sophisticated platform for a professional who thrives on building high-value institutional relationships and shaping the direction of a global industry group.

Reporting to a Director of Global Clients and Industries, the successful candidate will be responsible for translating high-level business objectives into actionable go-to-market strategies. This is a highly collaborative position that involves working closely with senior partners to identify emerging revenue streams and deepen engagement with a portfolio of priority global accounts. You will oversee the development of tailored client plans, ensuring the firm remains at the forefront of a rapidly transitioning energy landscape. Beyond client management, you will play a pivotal role in internal knowledge sharing and high-profile industry positioning, working alongside communications teams to elevate the firm’s thought leadership and presence at key international forums.

The ideal candidate will possess a wealth of experience in business development or client relationship management, preferably gained within a professional services environment or a global organisation servicing the energy sector. You will demonstrate an intricate understanding of market trends, from traditional oil and gas to the complexities of the energy transition, and have a proven ability to influence and lead senior stakeholders with gravitas. Exceptional account management skills are essential, as is the capacity to manage multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

This individual will be a proactive, commercially-minded professional with a talent for synthesising data into strategic insights. They will be a sophisticated communicator, able to articulate complex ideas with clarity and diplomacy to diverse audiences across a global network.
