Tom Morgan-Harris and Charlie Green at tml Partners have recently partnered with Ocado, to support the development of their new investor relations and inhouse corporate communications function.
Now a firm member of the FTSE100, Ocado is best known as the world’s largest dedicated online grocery retailer but it is actually their know-how and technology which is at the core of their rapidly growing business. To build their pioneering online shopping and fulfilment business model they have designed their own proprietary tech solutions from scratch. Their most advanced Ocado smart fulfilment centres have over 1,000 robots operating a smart picking system on a grid the size of football pitch.
The business is now partnering with some of the world’s largest retailers, to use Ocado’s proprietary smart technology and infrastructure solutions to power their online retail businesses. These partnerships include France’s Casino Group and US supermarket giant Kroger Group. In the UK, Ocado have recently confirmed a deal with Marks & Spencer which will give the High Street retailer a home delivery service for the first time.
Tom and Charlie partnered with David Shriver, Ocado’s Group Director of Communications, to appoint their first inhouse investor relations lead and support the development of a truly holistic and connected corporate communications function.
