Interim corporate affairs placement at CANDRIAM

Case Studies

Hiring an interim is often because a business has an urgent need, they need someone who can get off the mark quickly and run with projects from day one. This was the case when we took on the interim mandate with CANDRIAM.

CANDRIAM is a global asset management firm pioneering in sustainable and responsible investment. CANDRIAM quite literally stands for Conviction AND Responsibility in Asset Management, they have a story to tell that has integrity and is very relevant. Jennifer Spivey joined to head up the corporate communications function in the summer of last year, she recognised the need in her team to bring in a communicator to engage with the media and raise the brand profile.

We worked with Jennifer to understand what was needed from the individual that came in to support her, to subsequently provide a shortlist that met her needs. Naomi Hamilton, Senior Consultant, led the search for this, having specialised in interim recruitment in corporate affairs for a number of years, she was able to quickly share a tailored shortlist. Naomi’s extensive interim network meant that she was able to brief and share a shortlist with Jennifer within two days. The shortlist was considered and only profiles that matched the specific requirements were shared.

In working with tml Partners on the role, Jennifer said:

‘We approached tml Partners to help us find an experienced and dynamic media consultant that was able to step into CANDRIAM and hit the ground running from day one. We were supported by Naomi, who immediately understood our needs and was able to quickly identify candidates with the right skill set and fit for our team. Naomi has an excellent knowledge of the market and was a joy to work with. I’d highly recommend both Naomi and tml.’

Within the week Jennifer had met with the candidates from the shortlist and an offer was out to Natasha Moore. Natasha has a proven track record in communications, as well as the industry knowledge needed to be able to provide Jennifer with the support needed.

In working with Naomi Hamilton on securing this role, Natasha said:

‘I was approached by tml Partners in the search for an experienced media expert on an interim basis. Naomi was clear and concise about CANDRIAM’s requirements, interview process and skill set required for the role. As the role needed a highly specific skill set including European language ability and technical understanding of product. Naomi was an excellent partner throughout the process and I would collaborate with Naomi again.’

Once the offer was extended, tml Partners were able to guide both Jennifer and Natasha through the process, this included contracts, payroll and referencing.

When thinking about bringing interim support into the corporate affairs function, the process needs to be quick and efficient. Often it is about meeting the right person, at tml Partners we know how important it is that you meet someone who understands the business need and is able to slot in where desired. It’s also about us understanding when interim support is the right avenue to go down, which is something we can guide and advise on.
