A global leader in the legal industry are currently experiencing an exciting period of transformation and are seeking a dynamic leader to drive a key practice group forward.
This pivotal role involves leading a global team of 40, bringing fresh ideas and an entrepreneurial spirit to a priority practice group. The successful candidate will own the global Corporate business development (BD) team, playing a critical role in building and managing a high-performing group that drives BD initiatives to support growth in line with the firm’s strategy.
Key Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will develop and lead the execution of a global business development strategy for Corporate, overseeing all BD activities for the practice and its subgroups. They will establish close working relationships with partners and key stakeholders to align BD with strategic and go-to-market objectives. This role also involves setting targets and KPIs to track BD effectiveness, driving the use of market feedback to inform strategy, and identifying cross-selling opportunities across the firm. Furthermore, they will ensure efficient team operations, working closely with Marketing and Pitching teams to enhance client engagement and win strategic work. Leading and developing a high-performing global team, fostering a positive and inclusive culture, is also a core responsibility.
Key Requirements:
- Extensive experience in a BDM leadership and/or client-centric, partner-facing role.
- Proven track record of data-driven opportunity spotting, driving profitable revenue, and embedding business development best practices.
- A client-centric mindset focused on relationship growth and the client experience.
- Strong experience leading and developing teams.
- Experience leading client feedback conversations with senior clients.
