We are partnered with a prestigious, multi-disciplinary professional services firm who are seeking a Director of Go to Market to lead and elevate its commercial architecture. Operating in a newly created role, the successful candidate will shape how the firm identifies market opportunities, engages target buyers, and aligns sales and marketing resources to drive sustainable growth. Sitting on the leadership executive for the function, this strategic leader will act as a critical bridge between the business and marketing and sales teams, embedding commercial rigour and consistent go-to-market standards across all service streams, sectors, and regions.
The Director of Go to Market will manage a team of senior direct reports and oversee the broader business partner capability across the business. The role is tasked with taking a bird’s-eye view across diverse service lines to uncover whitespace, orchestrate cross-firm collaboration, and establish robust six-month planning cycles. A core focus will involve shifting the function from reactive delivery to demand-led strategic partnering. The postholder will lead the demand agenda, evaluate complex business requests, and confidently negotiate priorities to ensure resource is deployed against the highest-value commercial bets. Furthermore, as part of the functional executive board, the role contributes directly to broader performance management, cultural evolution, and operational efficiency initiatives.
The ideal candidate will bring a strong track record of leading commercial, market strategy, or combined sales and marketing teams within a complex, multi-disciplinary professional services environment. Experienced in navigating matrix structures and partnering with senior leadership, they will possess exceptional commercial judgement, resilience, and the strategic gravitas required to challenge established ways of working. Rather than relying on volume or noise, the successful candidate will be a thoughtful, articulate leader capable of bringing distinct functions together into a cohesive, client-centric model while inspiring high-performing teams through a period of functional transformation.
