A premier global law firm with an expansive international footprint is seeking a commercially minded Business Development Manager to join its sophisticated marketing team. This organization is renowned for its ability to navigate the most complex legal landscapes across the world’s most dynamic markets. The successful candidate will join a high-performing and collaborative U.S. marketing group that encourages innovative thinking and provides an environment where professional development is a core priority.

Reporting into senior leadership, the Business Development Manager will act as a strategic advisor to partners within the disputes and litigation practices, including antitrust, international arbitration, and cybersecurity. This is a partner-facing role that requires a blend of strategic planning and hands-on execution. You will be responsible for driving revenue growth through the creation of compelling client proposals, managing high-profile pitches, and identifying new pursuit opportunities. The remit also extends to managing the group’s external profile, overseeing legal directory submissions, and coordinating with the communications team to maximize media opportunities and thought leadership initiatives.

The role involves significant cross-border collaboration, working with global colleagues to integrate business development efforts across different regions and practice styles. You will take the lead on market research to identify trends impacting client businesses and provide actionable advice to the partnership. Additionally, the position oversees the management of industry sponsorships and client seminars, ensuring every event is leveraged for maximum impact and follow-up. Mentoring and supporting the growth of junior team members is also a key component of this leadership role.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in business development or marketing within a professional services or legal environment. You must demonstrate a sophisticated understanding of the litigation and disputes sector and possess the interpersonal skills necessary to influence senior stakeholders. A proven track record of delivering against strategic business objectives is essential, as is the ability to manage complex projects with conflicting deadlines. The successful applicant will be a proactive, persistent professional with a supportive approach to teamwork and excellent communication skills.
