Sarah Hanafy, VP of Marketing, leads the function and has focused strategies around developing targeted lead generation programmes to capture this demand. The business was looking for an experienced EMEA marketing manager to join the team, to own and drive multi-channel EMEA marketing go-to-market and lead generation campaigns. Fostering transparent but strong relationships with sales, they were looking for someone that understood the payments eco-system, and could develop propositions, sales enablement material and thought-leadership to generate demand, support conversion and in turn result in revenue.
Malisha Patel of tml Partners worked alongside the VP of Marketing, Head of Product Marketing and HR to understand the role and businesses objectives. Leveraging her network of contacts across the fintech and payments market, Malisha was able to introduce a shortlist of profiles and successfully appointed Carla Maccarini in the role.
Carla has a breadth of experience across marcomms, product marketing and content from American Express, where she worked in the B2B Corporate Payments vertical. Carla was able to marry her knowledge of the payments landscape with her marketing skills, her lead generation experience and ability to build strong relationships with sales, to showcase to the business that she was right for the role. In her addition, her enthusiasm, willingness to learn and approachable personality meant the hiring team instantly were able to build a good rapport with Carla and felt she would be an excellent fit the company culture and work well with the wider team.
Carla was on-boarded into the business at the beginning of 2021 whilst the UK remain in National Lockdown. The flexibility of home working meant Carla was able to remotely join some important new year team kick-off meetings ahead of her start date which made her transition during her first official week in the role seamless. She is settling in well and working closely with the EMEA Marketing Director, she is already having a positive impact to the business’ success in the EMEA region.
