Optegra is a vision correction business and pioneer in eye healthcare, proud to have first class surgeons and state of the art technology and operating facilities.

Peter Byloos, CEO of Optegra, approached Jill Smethers at tml Partners to help appoint an interim Marketing Director, the key deliverable for the role was to create a future facing strategy specifically focusing on the customer journey and acquisition of new clients.

Founded in 2007, Optegra have grown to be one of the leading private vision correction providers in the UK. They operate a premium service across 9 sites in the UK, offering several vision correction solutions to private patients.

They enjoyed rapid growth throughout the pandemic years, however, laser eye treatment is a one-time only purchase; hence Optegra are constantly seeking ways to attract and recruit new customers.  The treatment is regarded as a considered investment and patients take their time in committing to treatment as a result.

After an intense but productive search, Jill was able to deliver a shortlist of 6 known candidates within 3 days of the initial briefing and Optegra were delighted to have made an offer the following week. The successful candidate was James O’Shea, who had a background in both brand and digital marketing, notably having previous experience with private patient healthcare as the Marketing Director for The Harley Medical Group for a number of years.
