After a comprehensive selection process for the right search partner, tml Partners were mandated for an executive search for the new CMO at Aviva.
This was a critical hire for Aviva following the appointment of Maurice Tulloch as the new CEO. This instigated an exciting review of the Group’s strategic priorities with a new vision and purpose launched in 2019.
The CMO role was a newly created position to provide a co-ordinated UK wide approach to Aviva’s marketing, brand and communications strategy.
Diversity is at the core for Aviva and they look at all aspects of their business to make sure inclusion informs everything they do. It underpins how Aviva make business decisions with two global targets being to increase the number of women in leadership roles to 40% by 2021 and secondly, launching a strategy to increase the number of ethnic minority employees.
After a full market search led by Simon Bassett, from tml’s executive search team, Nicola Charles was appointed as the new Chief Marketing Officer.
