A prestigious, boutique and fast-growing law firm is seeking a Senior Marketing & Business Development Specialist to drive strategic growth across its core practice areas. Operating at the same level as top-tier global firms while maintaining an agile and entrepreneurial environment, the firm offers a unique platform for high-impact, visible work.

This role sits at the heart of the firm’s growth strategy, reporting directly to the CMBDO to shape and execute business development initiatives. The successful candidate will take ownership of key practice areas, delivering integrated marketing and BD strategies that support high-stakes, complex legal work.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Business Development & Advisory

  • Act as a trusted advisor to partners and practice leaders on business development strategy
  • Develop deep knowledge of practice areas, clients, markets, and competitive landscape
  • Identify and drive new business opportunities through data-driven insights and market intelligence
  • Support the design and delivery of BD training initiatives

Research & Market Intelligence

  • Conduct detailed company, industry, and market research
  • Deliver competitive analysis and actionable insights to inform strategic decisions
  • Analyse internal and external data to identify growth opportunities

Content Development & Pitch Execution

  • Lead the creation of high-quality pitches, presentations, and RFP responses
  • Draft and refine practice descriptions, attorney biographies, and marketing collateral
  • Ensure messaging is clear, compelling, and aligned with firm positioning

Go-to-Market Strategy & Campaign Execution

  • Partner with practice leaders to develop and implement annual BD and marketing plans
  • Manage client portfolio reviews to identify cross-selling opportunities
  • Build and oversee targeted marketing campaigns, including email initiatives and referral programmes
  • Identify and coordinate key events, sponsorships, and speaking opportunities
  • Lead end-to-end execution of conferences and client events

CRM & Data Management

  • Maintain and optimise BD systems, including CRM, pitch tracking, and experience databases
  • Track pipeline activity and ensure alignment with strategic priorities
  • Monitor and report on BD performance and outcomes

Stakeholder Engagement & Collaboration

  • Build strong relationships with partners, attorneys, and cross-functional teams
  • Act as a key liaison across offices and departments
  • Present BD updates and contribute to firm wide strategic initiatives

Project Management & Delivery

  • Manage multiple BD projects simultaneously with precision and accountability
  • Track progress, manage timelines, and deliver against deadlines
  • Take ownership of ad hoc strategic initiatives as required

About You

  • Strong commercial awareness with the ability to operate in a high-performance environment
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Highly organised with strong project management capabilities
  • Confident working with senior stakeholders and leadership teams
  • Proactive, intellectually curious, and solutions-oriented
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage competing priorities

Preferred Experience

  • Background in legal or relevant professional services marketing
  • Experience with CRM systems and business research platforms
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
  • Proven experience supporting high-value pitches and strategic BD initiatives
